Today is Upakarma festival, this year.
Sattupindi is usually prepared as Naivedya on Upakarma day. It is prepared from rice flour and various fruits. Very tasty and easy to prepare.
Rice Flour 1 cup
Til ½ tsp
Ghee ½ tsp
Grated coconut ½ cup
Grated jaggery ½ cup
Apple diced ¼ cup
Guava diced ¼ cup
Banana cut into pieces ¼ cup
Elaichi one pinch
Take a pan and dry roast rice flour till it is golden brown or aroma is smelled. Transfer the content into a large bowl and allow to cool.
Dry roast Til till it splutters. Transfer to the large bowl.
After rice flour is cooled, add grated cconut, grated jaggery, apple pieces, guava pieces, banana pieces, elaichi powder, ghee and mix.
Do not add any water. Water content in the fruits is sufficient to make a mix of Sattupindi.
Sattupindi is ready.
You can add more jaggery if you want Sattupindi more sweet. Shelf life is very less, you can store in refrigerator for a day.
