Butter can be made at home very easily. I prefer homemade butter rather than the one you get in shops outside.
Let us learn how to make homemade butter.
Collect full cream from milk along with little milk and add curds to it and keep for 6-8 hrs or overnight for fermentation.
Next day put the fermented creamy curds into a large vessel. I have used 3-4 days collected fermented creamy curds.
Add 3 times water to it. Also add ½ cup luke warm water.
You can either churn curds in a mixie and run for 3-4 mins or you can churn manually by using wooden paddles.
You can see butter floating. Stop churning at this level. Do not overdo churning as butter will not come.
Allow to cool.
Remove butter with wet hands.
You can eat butter in many ways. Butter and Gulkand can be spread on bread or bun. It can be used in sandwich, Akki Rotti, paratha, and so on. It is used to make Chakkuli, Muruku etc., Children like to eat butter as it is. Try butter with sambar and rice it taste yummy.
Butter can be converted into ghee. Click for homemade ghee.
