Bread is a staple food prepared from a dough of flour and water, usually by baking. It is made from wheat-flour dough that is cultured with yeast, allowed to rise, and finally baked in an oven. Owing to its high levels of gluten (which give the dough sponginess and elasticity), common wheat (also known as bread wheat) is the most common grain used for the preparation of bread.
Besan Bread Toast can be prepared with plain bread or whole wheat bread.
Today let us learn how to prepare Besan Bread Toast.
Bread (wheat or plain) 4 slices
Besan/chana flour (kadale hittu) 1 cup
Rice Flour 2 tsp
Green Chillies 6-7
Onion finely chopped 1 cup
Chilli powder 2-3 tsp
Curry Leaves 5-6 strands
Coriander Leaves 1 fistfull
Ginger Paste 1/4 tsp
Oil 4-5 tbsp
Salt to taste
Wash and finely chop chillies, curry and coriander leaves.
Take a bowl, put besan, rice flour, salt, chopped onion, chilli powder and mix with required quantity of water to make the paste.
Close the lid and keep it for 10 mins.
Add ginger paste, finely chopped curry and coriander leaves and mix well.
Add more water to make the batter dropping consistency.
Place a pan on medium flame. When it is heated turn the flame to low-medium flame.
You can cut the edges of the bread or use it wholly, i have used wholly.
Take a slice of bread spread the batter on both sides or dip in the batter.
Put oil and shallow fry for 3-4 mins until golden brown or roasted.
Now turn the other side of bread slice and fry for 2-3 mins.
Repeat the process for all the slices.
Now Besan Bread Toast is ready to serve.
You can serve Besan Bread Toast with tomato sauce. It can be served plain also.
Initially make the paste do not put more water as onion leaves water. You can add more water as required. You can give a try by serving chutney also.
